What's holding you back from doing what you need to be doing this week?

Reasons my brain tells me that going for a run* is a bad idea today:

I've got too much work on today

It's raining

I'll run tonight or tomorrow instead (hint: evidence suggests this is rarely the case)

I might get cold

I might catch a cold

There's a slight twinge in my elbow

This phone call is more important

Something about Covid

I can just stay home but eat healthily

I'll be sweaty afterwards for my zoom call

I'm on a deadline

I can start getting back on it tomorrow

The weather looks better tomorrow

I'm hungry

I just want to finish this YouTube video first

I'm waiting in for a delivery

I've started cooking

I've just eaten

I've just had a shower

I'm cosy

I'm tired

I'm too focused on XYZ right now.

Genuine reasons I shouldn't go for a run today:

I don't own shoes.

Make it happen this week.

* if running isn't your thing, feel free to replace 'going for a run' with whatever fitness or self-care activities you don't do often enough, but deep down you know are good for you. For example, I could just as easily have called this "All the reasons meditation is a bad idea".
